The MarketGauge Macro-Analysis tool provides insight into where the market has been and where it is likely to go. It is a visual analysis of 37 key market indicators covering three time frames with proprietary charts for each indicator. The analysis also includes an educational section for each indicator with a strategy for use. There is also historical analysis and a daily market summary. Macro-Analysis is updated each evening after the market closes and is a great tool to use each morning before the market opens to assess market conditions and the health of the overall market.
Hot Spots provides a quick and easy method of seeing exactly what industry groups are driving the market and the stocks that are driving these groups up or down. It generates numerous stock ideas. You can track the leading and lagging industry groups ranked by the biggest change in market capitalization. You can also easily track the stocks that are driving these groups up or down with their percentage price change and time of day relative volume movement (our "Dual Gauges"). Additionally, the tables show the stocks that are counter-trending the movement of the leading and lagging industry groups. For example, you can quickly spot stocks that are moving upward in the worst performing industry groups, and stocks that are moving downward in the best performing industry groups. The stock tables can be customized by Price, Market Capitalization, and Average Volume, allowing you to find the stocks that are most interesting to you in these leading and lagging groups.
HyperQuote is a unique quote view that shows a company's performance and activity relative to its peers, industry group, sector, and the market. To access a HyperQuote, enter a symbol in the HyperQuote menu bar at the top of the page. You can also enter multiple symbols separated by a space to get a multi-quote view. The HyperQuote is the best place to start if you want to take a Bottom-Up approach to the market. After you look at a particular company, you can then track the group, sector, and the broader market.
A Report View is a MarketGauge table that provides you with detailed information on indicies, sectors, groups, or stocks. Every report view allows you to sort the information in various ways. The row just under the report column headers shows the sorting options. The yellow arrows are for descending or ascending order. B/W shows a Best & Worst view, and A to Z ? Z to A provides an alphabetical listing of the companies in that report.
Each report view has a series of drop down menus (blue bars above the report name) that allow you to view different reports on the same list of stocks. By holding your cursor over the drop down menu, for example Fundamental Views, you can see and compare the companies in a group for key fundamentals including our own ranking system. The Price & Volume Views allow you to compare the historical performance of stocks, groups, indexes, or sectors.
The price and volume gauges together provide you with the ability to easily see whether a stock is moving up or down on heavy or low relative volume. Green is up; Red is down. The number of bars represents the magnitude of the change in price or volume. For example, if Cisco (CSCO) is showing 5 Green Price Bars and 5 Green Volume Bars, then the stock is moving upward on heavy volume. The volume gauge is based on a 30 day moving average and is adjusted for the time of day.
The Portfolio feature of MarketGauge allows you to track multiple watchlists or portfolios and easily monitor your stocks for anomalies. You can access all the same views as any other report. The link next to the portfolio name (See this Portfolio with Group Performance) will provide a comparison of each stock to its group performance. You can also instantly benchmark any stock against its peers by clicking on the HQ (HyperQuote) button under the more information column. A default portfolio has been set up for you. To create or edit a portfolio or watchlist click on the Create & Edit portfolios link and follow the instructions.
